Café Connection

Are you caring for a survivor of trauma with Alzheimer’s disease or another dementia ?

Do you find it hard to go out and socialize with your family member? Family and friends may stay away because they don’t know how to act around someone with dementia. Our Café Connection is one way people with memory loss and trauma and their loved one are coming together for a light meal or snack, enjoy some entertainment, make new friendships, and support one another.

Social Enrichment Programs like our Memory  Cafés and Arts and Music Programs provide people with memory loss and their loved ones a light meal or snack, entertainment, new friendships, and support.  The purpose is to enjoy each other’s company, stay connected, and have fun together.

A Café is a welcoming place for individuals with Alzheimer’s Disease or any other form of dementia, or other brain disorders and trauma and their caregivers. At a café, people can relax and just be themselves, knowing that no one judges them. At a café everyone there is going through almost the same things that you go through every day. A memory café has no real agenda or purpose except to enjoy each other’s company and help you and your care partner stay connected – the focus is on having fun and being together.

Our Café Connection program is focused on survivors of trauma affected by dementia and their caregivers, alleviating their suffering, and promoting healthy living in the face of memory loss.

The Café Connection is offered at no cost. It is supported by a grant from the Jewish Federation of North America.
Each café is different. We offer cafés on a variety of days and times to fit your schedule.
