Veteran and Military Families
The Willing Hearts, Helpful Hands Program stands ready to serve our nation’s heroes in their time of need. Our trained volunteers provide weekly respite relief to families of veterans. They provide the care and supervision your loved one needs on a schedule designed to allow you the time, personal space and freedom that is essential for healthy living. All volunteers are interviewed, screened and receive specialty care training.
For Caregivers
Funded in part by a grant from the National Corporation for Community Service, this program can provide veteran and military family caregivers of a senior with up to 8-10 hours of respite a week from a trained volunteer. Volunteers provide companionship for the client, while the caregiver receives a much needed break. To request assistance contact us today at (718) 289-4296.
For Volunteers
Volunteers who qualify receive a monthly stipend and an educational voucher to help pay for your college or for your children or grandchildren upon successful completion of service requirements.
